The Mikoudi family
After meeting in Leeds during their studies, the Mikoudi family has expanded - starting off as just a small instrumental based band, to now having up to 9 people on stage at one time.
The band combines pop melodies with jazz harmony, electronic ambient synth lines and danceable rhythms.
2022 was the year of Mikoudi's first gig, supporting Islandman at Headrow House. They have since gone on to support huge names such as Omar and Myele Manzanza, as well as performing in well known venues such as The Brudenell Social Club and Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds, The Victoria Dalston in London, and Band on the Wall in Manchester.
2023 was a big year for Mikoudi, having played Wilderness Festival and We Out Here Festival in August, Leeds + Manchester Jazz Festivals in May, and London Jazz Festival later in the year.
Mikoudi are currently in hibernation as they work on their debut EP ahead of its release.
Their latest single 'In My Head' was released on the night of their sell out show are at Hyde Park Book Club in October.
Archie Williamson on drums, David Bullock on bass guitar, Thomas McEwen on guitar, David Haynes on synthesizer, India Button on lead vocals, Eunhwa Jo/Joseph Frost on keys, Katie Prothero on backing vocals and Joe Vander-Muelhen on saxophone all make up the sound of Mikoudi.
With more festival dates confirmed ahead of Summer 2024, an EP to be released and a potential tour on the books for Autumn, this year is set to be even bigger and better.
